Elsie Dillard, your host, and owner of Bay Manor, raised a large
family in the house. After the youngest daughter married and
started her own family, the house seemed lonely, and the idea of
opening the house to guests seemed the right thing to do. It
worked, the house is now happy.
Elsie was born and raised in London. She migrated to the United
States in 1957, married in 1960 and moved to Seattle in 1961.
She was the founder of the travel agency “Elsie from England”,
which specialized in planning independent bed and breakfast trips
to Britain. She ran the agency for 25 years with a partner. Several
years ago the agency was sold, but is still in operation in Seattle.
She also has co-authored “Bed and Breakfast Ireland”, "The
Good Bed and Breakfast Guide", and "Britain by Train the Bed
and Breakfast Way" . She still travels to Britain and Ireland
updating her guides.

property was personally visited, which allowed the
opportunity to meet many wonderful hosts. Many
ideas that have been incorporated in Bay Manor,
came from her own personal experiences.
Guests, from the United States, Britain and Ireland,
have enjoyed their visit, to Bay Manor, as one
guest remarked “I came as a guest and left as a
friend” Her goal is to encourage people to travel the
bed and breakfast way.
Elsie loves meeting people, and as she says, Bed and Breakfast
“brings the world to your door” which is one of the nicest things
about it.
Transfers from the airport, and car rental, can be arranged. Elsie
is happy to recommend restaurants in the area. Salty’s, a well-
known seafood restaurant, is within walking distance, and is
situated in Redondo, overlooking the sound.
After dinner, at a local restaurant, you may enjoy a stroll along the
boardwalk, or perhaps, a beverage on the deck overlooking the
sound.
